I've often found it necessary to use shipping tools. I'm always nervous of sending posters flat, because when *I* receive things I've ordered that are shipped flat, even if the sender puts all over it "please do not bend," my mailman crams it into my tiny mailbox.  Extremely annoying.  (I collect paper advertisements from WWII, and buy a lot on ebay).
